Our Approach
-
Counseling Counts uses a two-tiered approach to meeting its mission
Tier 1
-
Change Counselor Time Usage
By having a coordinator whose role will be to align resources and access to
community resources, counselors will be able to focus more on face-to-face time with the students in areas of
counseling and guidance.
-
Identify students earlier with personal/social issues
Ensure students with mental health needs are identified, and all students are socially and emotionally healthy to
achieve academic, college, and career success.
-
Develop a Community/School Based “Wrap Around” Services System
Align with community resources to increase access, remove barriers for students and eliminate mental health
stigmas by creating a cross-sector continuum of mental health services and empowers students to discuss their mental
health issues and eliminates the stigma around such conversations.
