Phone number: 376-4639 ext. 4228Welcome to Columbus East High School!I have been teaching for many years here at this wonderful school as a Learning Resource Teacher, which is part of the Special Education Department. I help support students who struggle with their classes. This year I will be assisting the science department; helping them to assist not only special education students but also other students who struggle understanding the concepts that are being taught. I love assisting all students who need some extra help.I am also involved in other activities here at East High School. I love chaperoning the different dances, such as Winter Formal and the Prom. I work with Michelle Burnett as a co-sponsor for Key Club International. Key Club International is a student-led organization that teaches leadership through serving others (see link to get more information). In the past I was the faculty adviser for the E.N.D.C. (East North Dance Club) and have also coached volleyball. It is important to be involved in extra-curricular activities at school. It helps the student grow and feel connected to other students and the school.I enjoy my job and I enjoy working with the students that I come into contact with. My philosophy is that anyone can learn regardless of their abilities. If they try their very best and put in the effort to prove that they are willing to learn, they can get further in life. I know for many students learning is not easy, but being motivated and willing to put forth their best effort shows a lot to the teachers in this school.
