Dear Parents and Students,If you have the Internet at your home, you might want to visit some of the following websites for remediation or enrichment. By the way, if any of these websites are shut down or are temporarily out of order, I am very sorry. If you find any that are shut down completely and would like to let me know, I will remove them.Thank you for your patience with these sites. For some reason, sites have a funny way of disappearing so it's hard for me to keep up with them.If you have any great websites that you think would be appropriate here, please let me know. I will add them here! I will also add any YouTube addresses if you know of something that is educational and worthwhile!I encourage students to put their passwords to various websites on the first page of their assignment book. However, if you'd like to have them somewhere else, that's fine as long as you know where they are kept.Enjoy!Math: Practice math facts (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) each evening. Also, here is a link to the Math book and games:www.everydaymathonline.com (Your child will have a login name and password stapled inside their assignment book which is needed to play the games or to see the Student Reference Book.)www.mobymax.com is a great math website. Your child has a username and password!SCROLL to the bottom to see special websites sent to us from our Math Leaders of BCSC. (ISTEP Practice)Reading:The students are responsible for reading their story at home, out loud, each week by Wednesday. Our textbook is online only and you will be given a username and password after school starts. The website has a ton of helpful ideas as well as some of the stories that we will read in class.Spelling/Vocabulary:Please practice the spelling and Vocabulary words each week at home. We will practice in school as well.Go to: www.spellingcity.com/giggyjThe following are random sites in random order:http://worldbookonline.com/wbtimelines/home is a great place to research and make time-lines!www.wordle.net is a great site to creatively and randomly place words.***If you would like to start a free online writing journal for your child, go to https://penzu.com/gopro. I have a journal - the free one - and I like it. Of course, you can upgrade to a paid subscription if you'd like. If you choose to do this, your child is allowed to type on it at school whenever time allows. The following is a very good site for Math OR Language Arts.
The web address is: http://www.acuityathome.com/index.jsp
Your child will know the username and password as soon as we know what it is! This should be by October but we are not exactly sure yet.
