Quarter 4    Week 1

MRS. FOSTER’S LANGUAGE ARTS CLASS

PROJECT: In Language Arts, we will be working on creating slide shows that review 20 different literary elements.  These are elements that we encounter as we read and hope to include as we write.  The project will become a study guide for a test over these elements.  The project is due April 8.  The test will be April 15.

Texts: The Bridge to Terabithia - Chapters 5-9

and The Case of the Magic Marker Mischief Maker (Wonders Anthology)

Genre: Realistic Fiction and Drama

Writing Focus: Compare and Contrast

Reading Strategies and Skills – Summarize & Theme

Vocabulary Strategy - Homophones

Reading 30 minutes each evening to meet AR goal

Spelling and Vocab Tests Friday

Week 2 Bridge to Terabithia - response activities due Friday

MRS. KOORS’ MATH CLASS

For the next month we will be visiting our state standards each day to be sure that we are where we need to be! This week our focus is Number Sense.

Monday, March 28 - Number Sense Standards 1,2, &3

Tuesday, March 29- Number Sense Standards 4,5,&6

Wednesday, March 30-Number Sense Standard 7

Thursday, March 31 - Number Sense Standards 8,9,&10

MRS. FRAZIER’S SCIENCE/SOCIAL STUDIES CLASS

This week we will be reviewing science daily and learning new concepts in social studies and health. In Social Studies we are starting a group project where students are to use their imaginations and social studies knowledge to create a country and a map of that country including 7 map features. We will add more pieces to the country throughout the quarter as we get deeper into Social Studies.

There will be a POP Quiz over the map features we have studied sometime this week.
