Sixth Grade Raider Report

Quarter 4    Week 7

                                       May 9-13

This is “Relay for Life” week!  We are supporting the American Cancer Society by participating in several events!  The penny war is always a favorite with the winning classroom enjoying a pizza party.

Tuesday - pay $1 to wear your cowboy hat and garb

Wednesday - pay $1 to wear crazy socks

Thursday - pay $1 for mix-and-match day

Friday - $1 pajama pants day

It is also a busy week with field trips - we encourage and expect students to show The Raider Way no matter where we are!  So we will be respectful, responsible, and safe at Richards, at recess, in the hallway, in the restrooms, in the Cafe, at the Middles School visits, and on our trip to Squire Boone Caverns.

This week: Wonders Unit 5 - Week 1

Theme: Myths - Why do people tell and retell myths?

Compare and Contrast Paper: Main characters in two greek mythologies.

Final Paper Due by Thursday morning.

Reading 30 minutes each evening to meet AR goal

MRS. FRAZIER’S SCIENCE/SOCIAL STUDIES CLASS

This week we will dig deeper into Ancient Europe and begin the Middle Ages.

The students have finished up a STEM (Science Technology, Engineering, Math) project where they built a base and rock collection tool for the planet Mars. Could their creation withstand the hairdryer storm? Ask them about it!
