    Intro to Algebra or Algebra I

    This course is designed so that the students will learn the basics of gravity, light and sound waves, optical instruments, electricity and magnetism, dynamics, kinematics, nuclear and atomic physics, radioactivity and energy and momentum. This study is achieved through large group demonstration lecture, laboratory work, small group discussion and homework. The student will see and understand the broad application and success of physics in the world through an awareness of physics history, its role in the birth of technology, the exploration of the usefulness of physics in various careers and the application of physics to personal and societies issues.


    PHYSICS, ADVANCED PLACEMENT (L)                                            

    2 semesters, 2 credit, 
    Prerequisites: Physics I

    Approximate Fee: $29.00 per semester
    A CORE 40, AHD and NCAA Course

    This course follows College Board Entrance Examination guidelines for Advanced Placement Physics. This course is designed so the student will capture the knowledge and develop the skills included the AP Physics standards. Through the laboratory work, lectures, homework and class discussions the student will understand the broad application and success of physics in the world. The topics include Newtonian Mechanics, Relativistic Mechanics, Electricity and Magnetism, Fluid Mechanics, Thermal Physics, Atomic Physics, Nuclear Physics, Waves and Optics. All students may take the AP Physics Exam to qualify for college credit.
