    What is C4?
    C4 Columbus Area Career Connection provides career and technical education to high school students in Bartholomew, Brown, Decatur, Jackson and portions of Johnson counties in Indiana. Facilities for C4 classes are located at Columbus East and Columbus North High Schools as well as the McDowell Adult Education Center. C4 program offerings are organized in a career cluster format and include: Agricultural Science/Business, Business Management and Finance, Communications, Computer Technology, Construction Engineering Technology, Engineering Manufacturing Technology, Health Careers, Human Services (including Early Childhood Education, Cosmetology, and Culinary Arts), Protective Services and Transportation.
     
    What types of career fields and technical skills does C4 offer?   
    C4 offers a flexible curriculum with one, two, and three-hour classes within ten career clusters.  There are currently 123 course options and more than 300 community school-to-work opportunities.  The C4 curriculum is competency based, aligned with state language arts and math standards, is up-to-date with current economic needs, and provides an opportunity for students to earn between three and thirty-three college credits.  C4 program offerings are organized in a career cluster format  which can be viewed by clicking on this link:  
     
    Who is eligible to enroll in C4 classes?
    All students at Columbus North or East High Schools are eligible to enroll in C4 classes.  Students in the participating schools outside of Columbus must usually be in their junior or senior year to enroll in C4 due to academic core requirements and transportation policies.  A list of those schools and links to their websites may be located by clicking on this link:   
     
     
    How does a student enroll in C4 classes?
    Students should talk with their guidance counselor to enroll in C4 classes.  Enrollment times vary at each school, but generally will take place between January and March.  
     
    Where are C4 classes held?
    C4 classes are held in Columbus under the supervision of the Bartholomew Consolidated School Corporation (BCSC).  Classes are taught at three locations - Columbus North, Columbus East, and the McDowell Education Center. 
     
    Is there a fee to enroll in C4 classes?
    All C4 classes have a standard activity fee and book rental.  Some classes may require a special uniform, tools or consumable workbook.  For more information please check with the C4 teacher, contact the C4Office at C4office@bcsc.k12.in.us or call 812-376-4240.
     
    What transportation is provided for students in C4 classes?
    Each participating school outside of Columbus provides bus transportation for students enrolled in C4classes.  In addition, there are C4 buses running daily between Columbus North, Columbus East and McDowell.  Arrangements are made on an individual basis for students needing to provide their own transportation to C4 classes.
     
    How can I check on my child's progress?
    Parents of C4 students may find a link to the PowerSchool Parent Portal at the BCSC home page:   https://www.bcsc.k12.in.us.  Instructions are included at that site.  If you have questions, Columbus East and Columbus North students should call the main office at their home school.  Other participating schools may contact Jayne Morris at 376-4240 or  via e-mail.
