    Beginning Child Educare Training
    2 Semester, 2 or 3 Credit each semester
    Grades 11-12

    Child EduCare Training is designed for those interested in learning more about children. The first semester students reinforce knowledge gained in the child development and childcare workers courses while operating a nursery school. Students are responsible for the operation of the school and assume responsibility for various personal in a child care center. Second semester the student will intern in a childcare related occupation of their choice. The students return to the classroom one day a week for further training emphasizing job success skills, career planning, and operation of childcare facilities.     Intermediate Child Educare Training

    2 Semesters, 2 or 3 Credits each semester
    Grade 12

    The second year student is seeking accreditation through the Child Development Association, in conjunction with Ivy Tech and other accrediting agencies. Students will cover six competencies set by CDA and complete a portfolio. The competencies to be achieved are: providing a safe, healthy learning environment, physical and intellectual competency in children, social and emotional development and guidance, positive and productive relationships with families, well-run, purposeful child care programs, commitment to professionalism.
