Hello! My name is Mrs. Hafield and I teach 7th grade math and Pre-Algebra on the Tyro team.  In class students will be learning math concepts through discussions, team work, problem solving activities, experiments, and technology.  In addition to learning math, students will also be working on skills that will help them become expert learners.  Throughout the year they will practice working with their peers, using their resources, being active participants in their education, communicating effectively, writing goals, and displaying a good work ethic.  I believe these skills are crucial for students to be successful in and out of school.

I received my Bachelor's Degree from the University of Southern Indiana.  I have an elementary education degree with a middle school math endorsement.  This is my 14th year of teaching and over the years I have taught 6th, 7th, and 8th grade.  I have a passion for teaching math to middle school students.  I grew up in Bedford, Indiana and have been married to my high school sweetheart for 9 years.  We moved to Columbus in July 2016 and love it here.  We have one beautiful daughter who is four years old and keeps us very busy.  Outside of school you can find me reading, canoeing, shopping, spending time with my family and watching reality TV.  I love working at Northside Middle School and am proud to be a Spartan!
