  • ITE (SS Modular Technology)

Synergistic Modules were introduced in 1989 to revolutionize the way students are taught in Grades 7-9. Synergistic Modules are the original, most successful modular education program, with more than 4,000 labs in schools across the United States. Synergistic Modules encourage and enable systemic change, helping students become responsible for their own learning and freeing teachers to do what they do best – teach. The labs focus on a variety of core curriculum topics, including science, technology, engineering, and math. Engaging students through a multimedia curriculum and hands-on activities, Synergistic Modules are a proven method for effectively delivering core content knowledge at the middle-level and the lower grades.

Synergistic Modules have been part of the Related Arts curriculum here at Northside since the Fall of 2000.  Our labs were completely updated during the summer of 2016.  We currently have two identical sixteen Module labs with a total of thirty-two workstations.

We have recently made the following changes to our labs:

Lab 134 has the following modules:

Bio Engineering; CADD; CNC Manufacturing; Computer Graphics & Animation; Energy, Power, & Mechanics; Electricity; Engineering Towers; Forces; Forensic Science; Graphic Communication; Ideas and Innovations, Interior Design; Practical Skills; Research & Design; Robots and Rocketry & Space

Lab 136 has the following modules:

Bio Engineering; CADD; CNC Manufacturing; Computer Graphics & Animation; Energy, Power, & Mechanics; Electricity; Engineering Towers; Forces; Forensic Science; Graphic Communication; Ideas and Innovations, Interior Design; Practical Skills; Research & Design; Robots and Rocketry & Space

Students will complete three Modules each of nine weeks they are scheduled for ITE.  Most student will have two nine-weeks of ITE as a seventh grader and again as an eighth grader.  Students choosing GTT as an eighth grader will have a nine weeks of PLTW/GTT an nine weeks of ITE.
