The seventh grade social studies program concentrates on an examination of regions and cultures in the non-Western world.  Specific areas of study include Africa, Southwest Asia, South Asia (India), Southeast Asia, East Asia (China and Japan), and the Southwest Pacific (Australia, New Zealand, and Oceania).  Attention is given to current events as they affect present day state, national, and world affairs.

A skills unit is also part of the seventh grade program.  Identification, interpretation, and analysis skills using a variety of resource materials are stressed.  Throughout the curriculum, students are challenged to expand their learning skills with enrichment materials and research activities.  Appropriate activites are selected that will enable each student to have a successful school experience.
