Welcome

  • Industrial Technology Education -- ITE

Students have two Electives during their day.  Industrial Technology Education(ITE) is one of the Electives in the Related Arts rotation. Other courses in this rotation include Art, Family & Consumer Science, Health, Keyboarding, and Physical Education.

Most students enroll in ITE.  ITE is a nine-week course in one of two Synergistic Systems, modular technology classes.  Each modular technology class has fifteen modules or workstations.  Students spend a minimum of seven days at each workstation with a partner.  They are encouraged to work together on everything they do at their workstation except the Module Guide(Pretest) and Post Test.

This year we are also offering "Project Lead the Way"(PTLW) courses to our eighth graders.  PLTW classes designed for middle school students are called the "Gateway to Technology"(GTT).  GTT offers a series of classes designed to prepare middle school students for PLTW classes at the high school.

8th grade students enrolled in GTT this year will participate in two of the six classes.  They will complete "Design & Modeling" third nine weeks and "Automation & Robotics" the forth nine weeks.

If you have questions regarding these classes, contact one of the Guidance Counselors or one of the Technology teachers at Northside.
