Project Lead the Way:  Gateway to Technology

PLTW's curriculum makes math and science relevant for students. By engaging in hands-on, real-world projects, students understand how the skills they are learning in the classroom can be applied in everyday life. This approach is called activities-based learning, project-based learning, and problem-based learning or APPB-learning.

Gateway To Technology is the PLTW middle school program. It is divided into six independent nine-week courses developed for grades six through eight. GTT is taught in conjunction with a rigorous academic curriculum and is designed to challenge and engage the natural curiosity of middle school students.

Northside offers three of the six GTT courses.   This course will be offered second semester.  Eighth graders will start with the Design & Modeling course; move into the Automation & Robotics; and finish with the Energy & Environment.  These courses will only be offered second semester.
